UPDATE: Registration filled up on Sept. 30, but you can get on the waitlist, which is a smart thing to do, because there's almost always a cancellation - you know, life happens.
Now's your chance to register for the 2016 Novice Women's Duck Hunt - click here! If registration is closed, be sure to get on the waitlist so you can get in if there's a cancellation or if we get additional hunt capacity.
About the hunt: For women who've hunted ducks five times or fewer, the weekend event Nov. 4-6 features a Saturday packed with workshops - shooting, waterfowl ID, calling, cleaning and basic cooking - followed by Sunday hunts at three primo Upper Butte Basin duck clubs. Meals and lodging are included.
Hope to see you there!

2016 Novice Women's Duck Hunt - registration opens soon!
The 2016 Novice Women's Duck Hunt will be held Nov. 4-6 this year, and registration will be opening soon!
This event, held in the Sacramento Valley, is for women who have hunted ducks five times or fewer. It will feature a full day of intensive training on the 5th (shooting instruction and workshops on calling, ID, cleaning and basic cooking), and hunts at three Upper Butte Basin duck clubs on the 6th, followed by lunch at one of the clubs. As we did last year, we'll be sleeping, eating and workshopping at the lovely Casa de Patos.
The only major change this year is that the hunt has officially become part of California Waterfowl's Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program, and all registration will go through CWA's website, instead of this one.
If you received notice about this blog post by email, you'll be notified when registration opens. If not, plug your email address into the box to the right to receive updates by email - just be aware you will need to respond to a confirmation email. We'll post something on this site when registration is live.
